Top ideas to enhance your work from home space

August 18, 2022 by Annie

Post pandemic it has become essential to have a proper working space at home as most of the jobs have shifted to work from home and the need for having a work from home space has become important. However, working from home comes with a set of challenges and the most common problem you may face is that your space isn’t designed in a way for you to work efficiently from home. As a result of poor interiors, your work performance might be affected. To solve this problem, here are some of the best ways to transform your work from home space.

  1. Do have an ergonomic chair- Using a common chair at your work from home space will be trouble for your back. The current chair you are using might not be adjustable according to your computer table. An ergonomic chair is scientifically designed to provide you maximum support that helps you to sit for long durations without having a backache. This chair also supports your body movements smoothly irrespective of the rigid common chairs. An ergonomic chair has to be your go-to to build a productive work-from-home space.
  2. Have High quality of lighting- Your work-from-home space should be in a place where you can maximize the use of natural light. However, you should avoid a place that creates multiple shadows as it may affect your vision. Go for lights that illuminate the entire space and don’t cast shadows. Direct overhead lights can bounce back and hurt your eyes therefore, lights that illuminate the entire place are vital. You can use a task light for paperwork and other activities that require complete focus. You may even consider decorative office light to make the space look appealing.
  3. Set Up an optimum height for your work desk- A too high or low working table will waste a lot of your time as you’ll be finding it difficult to adjust to the setup. Your laptop table should be at a height that suits your body so it is highly recommended to customize it. If you fall in the average height category then a standard of 29 inches from the floor to the surface of your table will work well for you. Go for a table that has enough space for your keyboard, mouse, and notepads after your computers and laptops take up the majority of space. A clumsy table reduces your productivity. Therefore, a spacious and convenient table is best for work from home space.
  4. Choose the right wall colors– Color psychology plays an essential role in building productive work-from-home spaces. A space that has dull-colored walls would lead to sleepiness and inactivity. To create a disciplined space, the walls of your workspace should be chosen wisely. Blue, yellow, green, and purple are some of the best colors as they trigger intellect, creativity, balance, and spirituality respectively. You can also go for a wall dedicated to your vision board that would be aesthetically appealing yet productive.

Many other ideas can be incorporated to enhance your work from home space like installing a virtual assistant, whiteboard, indoor plants for maintaining freshness, etc. Apart from all the above-listed ideas, you must consider that your work-from-home office speaks a lot of your personality so make sure to create a go

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
