8 Reasons Why Your House Has So Much Clutter

May 1, 2019 by Annie

Despite knowing that cluttering kills a huge amount of time because you then have to declutter too, but we tend to clutter – a lot. If you are sailing in the same boat, you also need to analyze why you do this. Some of the key reasons behind this habit are listed below.

1. You Store Too Much of Everything

You may hate to go shopping many a times every month. And that’s why you buy everything in excess so that you do not need to go shopping. However, this is not a wise solution as it is easy to buy everything in excess, but you will not be able to arrange them properly. Sometimes, it also happens that whenever you want anything, you cannot be able to search it out because too much stuff is placed in every closet. So, always buy things you need and leave the rest.

2. You May Have Emotional Attachment with Some Stuff

This is one of the biggest reasons as per my own experience. You may face the same problem; however, gone are the days when emotional attachment to the old stuff could be pardoned. This is high time to get rid of everything which you are not going to use in the near future. It can be old magazines, cooking utensils, expired nail polish, old medicines, or even broken pieces of those items which once you wanted to get repaired but could not get time to do so.

In addition to the aforementioned, clothes and old bed sheets or bedspreads may amazingly be fitted in every closet. You should get rid of them all as the emotional attachment to the old stuff is not going to help you in growing or becoming bigger. Such little pieces of everything should not take control over you and your thoughts.

3. You Are Not Using Home Organizers

Have you ever heard about it? I heard quite late. That’s why I had to spend a lot of time to arrange things again and again, but I was unable to maintain them the way I wanted to. Using home organizers such as shoe boxes and multilayer hangers, you can arrange your closet properly. Furthermore, you will not have to arrange your closet every now and then.

4. You Are Unable To Store Things Properly

I had been facing this problem for a longer period of time; however, you do not need to get through it. Just like me, you may also pile up everything because you have little idea about home organizers. Use them properly and pragmatically to get rid of this issue and to get your things arranged quickly and let them be in the same condition comparatively longer period of time.

5. You Don’t Declutter Every Now And Then

If you start spending 10 to 15 minutes daily to upkeep your home then you may not have to worry about clutter.

6. You Don’t Give Away Your Old Stuff

Technology changes quickly and converts old things into useless objects. Such items may include CDs, DVDs, radios, walkman, and other small gadgets.

7. You Never Hired a Junk Removal Service

If you want to declutter and remove junk from your house responsibly, you need to hire a junk removal service that carry off the junk and leave you with a cleaner and spacy house.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
