4 Reasons to Bet on Sports as you Approach Retirement Age

May 16, 2018 by Annie

If you grew up playing sports and spent the majority of your adult life as a member of sports teams, as you near retirement you may miss being part of a competitive sports team and being able to engage in a bit of friendly competition. If so there’s one way which you can continue to feel part of a team and take on competitive individual, betting on your favorite sports.

4 Reasons you may be interested in betting on sports results if you’re nearing retirement:

1. You’ll be able to feel like you’re a part of your favorite sports teams

While you may no longer be able to play your favorite sports at a competitive level, there’s no reason why you can’t feel like an integral part of your favorite sports teams. As by placing bets on the results of sports matches, you’ll become as invested in the success of your favorite sports teams as their players.

2. Watching your favorite sports is even more exciting when you have money on the line

If you thought watching one of your favorite teams take on their greatest rival in a do or die match is exciting if you place your money where your mouth is you’ll spend the entire matchup on the edge of your seat, rooting for your team to obtain a victory.

So if you want to feel as excited as possible about your favorite sport’s upcoming league, it’s well worth considering betting on sports results. Especially if you have retirement savings and are no longer able to play your favorite sport in a competitive league!

3. You’ll be able to show off your sports expertize

While some individuals may make bets based purely on their intuition, if you are sports mad and follow every team in a league’s weekly results, you should be able to use your expertize to earn a little extra money.

As an example, you may make a killing betting a small amount of money on an underdog team to win a match if you know that the team who is expected to clean up has more than 3 of their top players sitting a match out due to serious injuries. Or you may back a team to win a home match as they have a season long, unbroken string of home wins.

4. You’ll be able to compete against your family and friends

If you’re a fan of friendly competition and miss the thrill of being able to compete against other sports fans, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in direct competition with your nearest and dearest, by trying to pick as many correct sports results as possible. In order to prove to your loved ones, that you are the most knowledgeable sports fan in your family or group of friends.

Better yet, if a few of your friends are as fanatical about sports as you are, you might have some strong competition to beat.

If you’re approaching retirement and miss the thrill and excitement of playing sport, it’s definitely worth hanging up your sports equipment and shoes in favor of betting on your favorite sports!

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
