Easy DIY Ideas for Your Home

December 14, 2017 by Annie

If you’re handy with a toolbox and a paint brush, simply continue reading to discover a wide variety of inexpensive DIY ideas, which can you use to transform your house into a home.

Easy DIY Ideas for Your Home:

Frame your television

Instead of trying to hide an oversized flat screen television, you may want to consider building a decorative frame around your television screen. If your home boasts a plethora of photo frames, you may want to consider building a frame for your television, which complements the rest ofyour photo frames. As an example, if you favor wooden photo frames, you may want to build a wooden frame for your television.

Consider painting over your old vinyl floors

If you’re looking to modernize your home, you may want to consider painting over your old vinyl flooring. As an example, if your bathroom features vinyl floors you may want to consider painting wide black and white stripes on your vinyl floors. Which will give your bathroom a glamorous boutique hotel vibe.

Use multipurpose washi tape to decorate your fridge

If you’re looking to express your own personal sense of style you may want to consider using washi tape to decorate your fridge. As an example, if you own a white fridge, you may want to use gold washi tape, to create an eye-catching gold and white striped pattern.

Use a black rubber doormat to cover up an unsightly air vent

Consider hanging a decorative black rubber doormat on top of an unsightly air vent. Simply use two screws to secure your rubber doormat on top of your air vent. As most rubber air vents offer plenty of holes, you won’t have to worry about your air vent having adequate ventilation.

Turn a mason jar into a liquid soap dispenser

To create a one of a kind liquid soap dispenser simply purchase an inexpensive soap dispenser pump, and use a hand drill to make a hole in the center of your mason jar’s lid. If you can’t find a suitable pump, simply use a pump from an old bottle of body lotion or hand cream, that is now empty.

Use a paint by numbers kit to decorate a side table

Simply complete a large paint by numbers kit. Then use a large sheet of paper or newspaper to trace an outline of the top of your side table. Which you can then use to cut out the section of your paint by numbers painting, which you plan to use to decorate the top of your side table. Finally, use super glue to stick your painting on the top of your side table. To ensure that your painting is protected simply use two coats of a high-quality clear acrylic matte sealer to protect your DIY side table. Once you finish work on your DIY side table, you’ll have a side table that is truly one of a kind!

So if you’re looking to add a few personal touches to your home decor, it’s well worth experimenting with some of the fun DIY projects listed above.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
