South Beach, Miami Beach, and Coral Gables are all names that people have come to associate with South Florida. However, sitting on the shoreline of Biscayne Bay, just north of the Miami Design District, is an up-and-coming neighborhood that will have elements of the area that make it great. Edgewater Miami might be the smallest neighborhood but with the most to offer. Here are some of the reasons why you’ll want to consider moving to this bustling little area.
Luxury Real Estate
In the early 2000s, Edgewater had been more of a vision in the representations of the developer, not the resident — a piece of underdeveloped real estate in need of upgrading. Condo residents weren’t a thing, because they didn’t exist. Fast forward to the early 2010s with the completion of 23 Biscayne, which marked the start of luxury condos in the area. Soon, this area became a popular residential neighborhood where you could easily find an Edgewater Miami Condo down Biscayne Boulevard that was filled with amenities.
Take Aria on the Bay Condos, for example. Condo residents enjoy such treasures like a sauna, a great view from their private balcony, floor to ceiling windows, hot tubs, and a wealth of other amazing perks. Floors plans include 1-4 bedrooms, a walk-in closet in every master, and an oversized bath. The building boasts valet parking, a massive fitness center, and easy access to some breath-taking views of Biscayne Bay. You’ll also find basketball courts, party rooms, and volleyball areas all within your reach. Also, the Aria is close to Wynwood’s electric art scape, the entertainment district, and isn’t too far from downtown Miami. With an Edgewater Miami condo, you’re sure to experience wealth and indulgence.
Shopping
Near the heart of Wynwood and Midtown, and very close to Edgewater condos, can be found some of the area’s best shopping. You’ll be able to find wonderful jewelry stores and some of Kays previously owned treasures. Their selection doesn’t have to break your back either. You can find great deals on wedding rings, engagement rings, white gold necklaces, or a variety of other items. Most of their items have dramatic savings just in time for Valentine’s Day.
It’s the perfect time to improve your husband’s watch collection or get your wife a new fashion ring. Additionally, Kay Jewelers offers free shipping on many of their store options. So, you can look at all of their affordable prices and shop Kay Jewelers from the comfort of your luxury condo. The area also boasts dozens of other boutiques with the best deals around. There are also art studios to explore and craft shops to pick through. Coffee shops, fine dining, and other great stores are all just a short distance from Edgewater.
History
Edgewater has long been a shopping area and business center, and it’s been that way since the 1920s. High-dollar buyers have been attracted to the district with some of the most prestigious retails calling the area home. Retail giants like Sears also called the neighborhood home for those consumers who looked for better value. The area thrived until about the 1970s when it plateaued. Commercial real estate then declined during the 1990s and many lessee companies closed their doors.
The Omni Mall, one of the largest in the area, would close its doors by 2000. The lack of business in the area created issues for regions like Margaret Pace Park as well as the closure of many buildings. The area turned into a place people avoided and few investors sought out. Thankfully, the Edgewater area saw a resurgence in the 2010s. It’s become a destination for holiday rentals, families, and businesses, and its recent development has showcased the reasons for moving to South Florida. Today, it’s hard to consider the area as anything other than a prominent and thriving neighborhood near the heart of Miami.
