Bring The Magic Back To Your Homes This Christmas

January 8, 2021 by Annie

Holidays are right around the corner. With the year that we have had, it makes sense to have no less than an ultimate Christmas celebration to cheer everyone up and get the spirit of Christmas back. Holidays are the times that bring everyone together through the exchange of wishes and presents, sharing good memories. Freshly cooked meals, baked cookies, Christmas party decorations, games, and gifts make the magic happen for kids and adults alike. Therefore, it is time to roll up one’s sleeves, put on the Christmas caps and plan to host a Christmas party that all friends and family will never forget. Here are a few tips for doing just that.

Light the Place Up

One of the easiest ways to create the right mood for a Christmas party is great lighting. Traditionally Christmas is associated with shades of white, red, and green lights. One can put up lights on the windows, across walls, poles, and railings. Lighting up the Christmas tree with string lights is one of the most joyous sights. Multicoloured lights in whimsical shapes and sizes are available just for that occasion. Even if it is last minute, websites selling Christmas party decorations are bound to have a good selection.

Bring Some Elegance with Candles and Centrepieces

Christmas Party is not complete without centrepieces. Hosts can place decorative or fresh flowers in ceramic vases on tabletops, or Christmas ornaments, fresh fruit or pine cones bring in the season’s feel. Elegant large bowls filled with water and some floating candles and a few scented candles in corners bring a sense of warmth to the party. Also, nothing says celebration and merriment like balloons which glam up the party.

Add a Little Sugar into the Mix

Guests would surely gobble up freshly baked cookies, cupcakes, gingerbread, trifles, pastries, and cakes iced in festive colours within no time. For the kids, a display of candy canes, sweet candy, gummy bears and M&Ms can be rolled out or decorated to make them jump in joy. They can be perfect for gifts or stocking fillings just to hand out as treats after every game.

Arrange for Fun Games

Initiate some cheer and laughter by arranging for games at the party for everyone to get involved and playing. These could include board games, gift exchange games, gingerbread house decorating games or games based on Christmas party decorations and stockings. Get the guests to have fun with some on-spot dance competitions and karaoke or even a treasure hunt around the house.

Set Up a Christmas Photo Booth

There have not been many opportunities to capture good pictures of people all year. So, provide the family and friends with a chance and capture them in their best holiday spirit by setting up a Christmas photo booth filled with fun props and backgrounds, and decorations. They can make the party memorable and help file all the fun everyone has had. Photographs can also be kept as souvenirs or sent out as postcards.

Bring in Some Hope with Fun Plans for the Future

With days and years passing so quickly and people making resolutions that they might end up breaking, why not sit and come up with exciting plans for everyone to do together, building a bucket-list to look forward to. The cheerful ambience with food, drinks and incredible Christmas party decorations are bound to make people happy and want more connections. Therefore, throw a Christmas party that everyone will leave by looking forward to something exciting, the next year!

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
