5 Ways To Make Mothers Day Special

January 20, 2021 by Annie

Everyone has a special day of the year they love. Whether it’s their birthday, their anniversary, or their favorite holiday like Halloween, there are some days that are just particularly special in people’s hearts. Most moms can agree that Mother’s Day is their favorite day out of all the holidays of the year.

After all, it’s the day when the whole family shows their appreciation for all the hard work that she does day in and day out for her family. So, it’s important that you do something special for your mother or partner on Mother’s Day. Doing so means she knows she feels appreciated!

If you’re not sure what to plan for this Mother’s Day, then take a look at some of the best ideas for making it special.

Give the Gift of Photos

What mother doesn’t love photos of her family? Consider printing memories that she loves that she can hang on her wall. There are all sorts of different options out there. Whether you want to print a photo on a canvas or create a custom calendar, there are different ways to print photos of the family that the celebrated mother will surely love.

Clean the House

Even though you might be focusing mostly on gift ideas you can buy, nothing is a better gift than cleaning the house. And the only thing better than a clean house is when kids clean the house.

Moms love seeing their little ones make an effort to pitch into the daily duties. Consider giving all of your kids a cleaning tool and letting them scrub away. Even though the younger ones might not make much of a dent in the dirt, at least mom will find it adorable watching them try.

Breakfast in Bed

When mom wakes up, usually the first thing she does is make sure everyone else’s breakfast is taken care of. Why not give her one day out of the year when you bring breakfast to her instead.

Let her relax and stay in bed for as long as she wants. Bring coffee, toast, or whatever it is that she loves to eat in the mornings. Make sure that she doesn’t have to think about a thing from the moment she wakes up.

Flowers

Nothing says “I love you,” like flowers. Whether you buy mom a bouquet or pick flowers to give her, the idea is bringing her something beautiful in bloom. You can have the kids arrange them in a vase of their choosing. (Sometimes it’s adorable seeing what kids come up with to put flowers in!)

Personalized Gifts

While store-bought gifts are fine and dandy, there’s something special about a gift that comes from the heart. Consider giving the mom in your life something made by hand. She’ll appreciate how much thought and love went into such a gesture.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
