It’s a Fun-Filled Family Week with Frozen the Musical in Salt Lake City

February 21, 2020 by Annie

Do you know this April something incredibly unusual is going to happen? That’s right. Frigid temperatures will descend upon the Southwest when “Frozen” comes to the desert! If you have small children at home, then you should already be a Frozen fan.

Since this Disney movie’s release in 2013, children and adults alike have refused to let it go! People around the world have gone head over heels with the princesses of Arendelle, Elsa and her sister and best friend, princess Anna. And it’s not just the two princesses. The many other characters from the movie have also gained huge followings from their fans. Frozen boasts beloved characters like Olaf, Kristoff, Hans, Oaken, Bulda, and the entire gang. Now you and your child can meet the whole Frozen cast in Salt Lake City. Yes, it’s true, so book your tickets now so that you don’t miss the opportunity.

Bring the family to Meet Anna, Elsa, and All Their Faves

The Frozen cast will be in town for the Broadway musical inspired by the legendary movie. The show will mesmerize you with the unforgettable tunes, including the iconic song “Let it Go,” “Do You Want to Build A Snowman?”, “In Summer,” and “The First Time in Forever.” The opening night is April 15, 2020, but the show runs until May 3. Get tickets now before they sell out!

The show will be two hours long, with one intermission in between. You can catch the show at the Eccles Theatre, 131 Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.

The cast includes:

  • Caroline Bowman as Elsa
  • Caroline Innerbichler as Anna
  • Austin Colby as Hans
  • F. Michael Haynie as Olaf
  • Mason Reeves as Kristoff
  • Jeremy Morse as Weasleton
  • Collin Baja and Evan Strand as Sven

Stay Overnight with the Kiddos Here

If you are planning to make a mini-vacation out of your Frozen trip, stay in a hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. Here are some accommodation options that are perfect for the kiddos and the rest of the family.

Hyatt Place Salt Lake City/Downtown: With an outdoor pool and a spa, this is one of the most popular hotels in the area. Other amenities include in-room coffee makers, a small refrigerator (this comes in handy if you are traveling with young children and want to store food or milk), and a sofa bed. Some of the popular city attractions are also a few minutes’ walks away from the hotel—more on this in the later sections.

Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek: Featuring an indoor and outdoor pool, this hotel is comfortable and affordable, with an evening stay starting at $100. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and private parking if you are planning to drive down. If you are planning to extend your stay for a day or two, check out particular units of the hotel that feature more space. There is also a fitness center and 24-hour front desk to assist you in case you need anything. The in-house restaurants offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Other Family-Friendly Things to Do in SLC

Apart from watching the Frozen Broadway musical show, there are many other things to do for the whole family if you have some time to spare. For example, the Abravanel concert hall is ten minutes’ walk from downtown SLC. If you are traveling with children, you should plan a visit to the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum of Utah, which is right downtown as well. Other popular locations to visit include The City Library, Temple Square, Museum of Church History and Art, Vivint Smart Home Arena, Utah State Capitol, Utah Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Garden, Trolley Square, and the Gilgal Sculpture Garden.

Bring Your Family to These Restaurants for Good Food

If you worked up a hearty appetite walking all over SLC, you’ll want to try some delicious local steak. Visit the Fleming Steak House and satisfy your craving for high-quality red meat at this favorite of locals and visitors, alike. The Red Rock Brewery is a good café and bar where mom and dad can relax with a drink. It is also located downtown.

Make a Mini-Vacation to Remember

If you’re a Frozen fan, you would certainly not want to miss this fun! Even better, surprise your little ones by booking the tickets in advance. Shhh, did we say it’s secret!

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
