Should you downsize your office space post pandemic?

April 2, 2021 by Annie

If you’re currently working out your business plans for when business returns to normal post-pandemic, you’ve come to the right place. Simply continue reading to discover whether you should start considering downsizing your current office space, post pandemic.

Consider whether it would be possible to have some all or of your employees work from home:

It’s a great idea to consider whether it would be possible to continue having some of your employees telecommute from home, post pandemic. As if more of your employees work from home in the long term, you’ll be able to decrease the size of the office which you’re currently using. The smaller the office space which you use is, the less your business’ operating costs will be and the higher your profits will be.

If you’re interested in the possibility of moving to a smaller, more affordable office space, it’s well worth hiring professional movers to ensure that all of your office equipment arrives at your new office space, in perfect condition.

Consider whether your employees prefer working from home:

It’s well worth polling your employees, to see how many individuals are interested in working from home full time. As it’s highly likely that a large number of your office staff are highly interested in working from home in the future. There are many advantages of working from home for your employees. One of which is that your employees will be able to enjoy a healthier work, life balance and will have more time in the mornings and evenings to relax and to spend with family members and friends. As they’ll no longer have to factor a commute to and from your offices, into their working days.

Another advantage of working from home is that employees who are parents will be able to have a more hands-on role with their children. Especially as they have young children. For example, they’ll be at home, when their children return from school in the afternoons. Which may motivate them to work diligently to complete their projects early. So that they’ll be able to spend a bit of extra time with their children.

Think about how you could reinvest the money which you save on office costs:

You may want to reinvest the money which you’ll save on office costs on other areas of your business. In order to help your business grow faster. For example, with the money that you save in the first month after you downsize your office, you’ll be able to hire a top SEO company. That will be able to help drive traffic to your website, which will rapidly increase your business’ revenue. To find out how you can hire the best SEO company to promote your business click here.

So if you’ve been tossing up the idea of decreasing your office’s current space, it’s well worth asking yourself all three of the important questions which were listed above. Especially if you want to decrease your operating costs, increase your profits and improve your employees’ morale.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
