How to Continue Your Education Online: Tools, Apps, and Life Hacks to Try

June 26, 2019 by Annie

Long-distance learning is becoming easier and more efficient. The internet hosts numerous online learning platforms such as Dissertationexpert.org, and there are emerging digital tools and apps that support it. Unfortunately, people are only learning how to learn online.

Here are some guidelines that will make it easier and more fulfilling for you to continue your education online.

Use Educational Apps and Websites

There are thousands of websites dedicated to education. Most of these websites are essentially journals that contain tons of academic essays and research papers. You will find thousands of such websites on Google Scholar, Google’s search engine dedicated entirely to educators and scholars. Most of these websites are freely accessible, and you will find invaluable sources to advance your education in whichever field.

Besides online education journals, there are also websites that function as forums where learners can meet and interact. These websites host important discussions that help students in a variety of fields exchange their ideas and learn more. They also host virtual classes where professors volunteer to teach.

Mobile applications are taking over the online education industry. Some are customized to cater to specific fields by providing access to academic materials. Others are designed to bring students closer together and support free and easy communication. Others are designed to make it easier to learn certain topics or master new languages. The possibilities are endless in this sphere, and so are the opportunities.

There are numerous educational apps that you can try out:

  • Mathway – Mathway is an app that helps with mathematical assignments. It features tons of formulas and other guidelines that help you get your numbers right.
  • LiveMocha – LiveMocha is an app that brings people from different walks of life together. The goal is to help its users learn language from native speakers. It is especially resourceful for those taking a course in languages.
  • Evernote – Evernote enables you to save any kind of content from the web. This is not why it is resourceful – the fact that it can turn this content into written notes is. It is a great app to gather information and collect it in one place for easy reading and studying.

Connect with Other Online Students

One of the advantages of on-site learning, as compared to online learning, is that the former affords students good networking possibilities. Students can help each other out and discuss whatever they learn. This is important, and you too should surround yourself with people who are taking your course online. We recommend making physical contact with other online students, but if this is not possible, you can always do it online and maintain close contact.

Knowing that there are other people doing what you are doing will help you nurture confidence as online education is still frowned upon in some circles – this, however, is changing as more and more people are studying online while they juggle their personal and professional lives.

Become Better Organized

The greatest disadvantage of online education is that no one is watching. Your professor is not there to supervise you, and your peers are not around to push you. This makes it easy to procrastinate, which is a recipe for disaster. Besides, there is so much to do – you can always catch up on your studies later, right?

Every online student should have a highly organized and rigid schedule that gives priority to learning. Learn to juggle your personal and professional lives and make time for your online classes. The results will be worth it.

Online education is becoming more popular, and employers are softening their stance towards online degrees and diplomas. As such, there is no reason why you shouldn’t further your education online. Just keep these tips in mind to hack it.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
