Questions to Ask Trade Show Organisers Before Finalising Your Participation

Weeks before a trade show, you need to confirm your participation with the organisers. It is vital that you tell them that you are joining so they can assign an appropriate booth for you. Before you confirm attendance, you need to ask some questions so that you can ensure that you will make the most of your participation.

Is it possible to choose a booth?

You want to attend a trade show where you have the chance to decide where you are going to set up a booth. If you do not have the opportunity to select, you might end up in a location that you will not enjoy. You might not get any attention, and no one even bothers to have a look.

Who are the confirmed attendees?

You also need to know exactly who is attending the event. It is easy for you to decide how to attract their attention based on common attitudes and qualities. Besides, if the confirmed attendees are not among your target audience, you still have the chance to back out. You do not want to join an event where you cannot increase your opportunity to appeal to potential buyers.

Who else is coming?

It is also essential for you to ask who else is coming to the event. You want to know if these companies have huge names in the industry. You also want to know if your direct competitors will be present. By asking who the confirmed companies are, you will know if the trade show is a huge deal or not.

Is there freedom to decorate the booth?

For some events, they allow the exhibitors to determine how to spruce up the appearance of the booth. They can decide how to make it look appealing to the people who are coming. However, other organisers want uniformity. They do not let companies come up with crazy gimmicks. They can only use print ads like leaflets and posters for advertising. Either way, it is okay as long as the organisers allow you to set up a display stand. You need one to attract attention. Not everyone is going to enter your booth. The ones who decide to pass by will still get information about your business through the display stand.

What other events have the organisers helped with before?

You need to check the reliability and reputation of the organisers before you confirm your attendance. If the event might be a disaster, you do not want to have an association with it. Check if the organisers have done other major events before. If they were successful in doing those activities, they might be worth considering. You can also check some reviews about them online. If they were terrible, you might not hear the end of it from other attendees of previous events.

Once you have received the responses to these questions, you can confirm your participation, or not. You need to prepare your representatives for the event and explain to them what to expect.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
