5 Ways That Digital Tech Can Help Mums

May 16, 2022 by Annie

If you are approaching motherhood, this is an exciting time for sure! Of course, it is perfectly normal to be apprehensive about becoming a mum, yet Mother Nature seems to prepare us for this unique experience of bringing a new life into the world. The good news is that digital technology brings with it many perks and with that in mind, here are some of the ways that mums can benefit from tech.

  1. Mobile apps – Download the motherly app and you have your very own user manual on how to be a good mum. Connect with mums all over the world and whenever you have a question, the mum’s forum has the answer; they have sections for every stage from trying for a baby to dealing with toddlers.
  2. Google – We tend to take the number one search engine for granted and you might not be aware that you can speak to Google, which is great when you’re busy feeding your child. It is amazing that we can get answers to any question in the blink of an eye, yet here we are! There is an easier way to get answers to mum questions, which is to download a mum app, which you can customise.
  3. Mum’s health – There are apps for pregnancy, which can monitor blood pressure and remind you how to cope with things like morning sickness and advice on diet. Take a look at Play Store and browse the many apps for mums-to-be and you will always have expert backup and can connect with other mums. Here are a few toddler chore ideas for later.
  4. Real-time video – Programs like Zoom help mums when they need medical services; most doctors now offer virtual consultations, while you can also enrol in a virtual exercise class. Being with child can be physically exhausting and receiving medical treatment or advice from a health professional can be done online. Some women practice yoga online; YouTube hosts many yoga videos that you can follow, in fact, this channel has everything a new mum could need in terms of tuition.
  5. Social media – Join a local Facebook mothers’ group and make lots of new friends and that could lead to going to meet up at a local community centre. We all need to socialise and during the lockdown, social media was the only way to keep in touch with family and friends and with real-time video calls, you can engage with close friends and those who are far away.

The high level of digital tech means a mum is never alone and she has access to a wealth of local wisdom about every aspect of motherhood. If you are approaching motherhood, check out the latest apps that you can customise with your very own profile and become part of a wide community of mums.

When you are approaching becoming a mum, there is much to learn and the current level of digital tech offers you much.

About Me

Hi! I'm Annie and I have 3 kids (all in their teens - yikes!). My mommy blog isn't all about lunches and DIY - it's also about humour. Like how my kids make fun of my texts as if I don't know how to use emojis (I DO!). Now that I have a bit more time - since my kids don't want to hang out with me (teenagers), I have taken up blogging.
